The house concert takes place on Saturday, August 2 in West County with all proceeds going to support PROMO, Missouri’s LGBTQ+ advocacy and public policy organization
ST. LOUIS (July 10, 2025) — Scottish guitarist and singer, Ali Tod, comes to St. Louis for a benefit concert for PROMO, Missouri’s LGBTQ+ public policy and advocacy organization, on Saturday, August 2 from 5-8 p.m. The show takes place at Riviera STL as an intimate house concert for music lovers to experience the talent of this international musician. The evening also contains a silent auction with art created by national queer artists and local restaurant baskets. Tickets are available at $20 for general admission and guests can also pay it forward by purchasing a ticket for a community member who might not otherwise be able to attend.
“I’m thrilled to be performing in St. Louis for the first time, and for it to be in collaboration with PROMO is truly something I’m proud of,” said Ali Tod. “As a queer artist, the LGBTQ+ community has obviously meant a lot to me, and it is an honour to be able to contribute in some small way to the wonderful work they do in Missouri. If it were not for other artists and musicians creating space for our community and bringing people together, I wouldn’t have met Heather and Lacie, so being able to do the same thing with my own music feels very full circle.”
Tod blends modern percussive fingerstyle guitar techniques with classical training and loop-pedal mastery, to create a live acoustic experience. She has performed with her idols, Grammy award-winning musicians, Rodrigo y Gabriela after the Mexican guitar duo discovered her covers of their songs on social media. She’s also played alongside Grammy award-winner, Brandi Carlile, numerous times including at the Americana star’s female-led music festival, Girls Just Wanna Weekend in Cancun, Mexico. Ali has also performed at the Zihuatanejo International Guitar Festival, Ards International Guitar Festival, Belfast Guitar Festival, London Guitar Night, Manchester Guitar Night, Edinburgh Guitar and Music Festival, Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Aberdeen Jazz Festival.
“Ali is a magnificent artist who stands behind her values,” said Lacie Brown-Hudson, Development Director of PROMO. “The fact she is willing to come to Missouri as a queer female artist and not only create a safe space for our community, but also help raise funds to fight anti-LGBTQ+ legislation is powerful. We are elated to bring her to St. Louis for her first time and as one of the stops during her United States tour.”
Tickets are on sale now through Ali Tod’s website or PROMO’s website. For more information about PROMO and the work the nonprofit does, concert goers can visit promomissouri.org.
