Advocate + Organize
Help Build Power
Advocacy is a powerful tool — providing a path for every person to use their voice and speak truth to power. Whether within local governments, education systems, speaking to a large group of people, or having transformative conversations in one-on-one spaces, advocacy and organizing are the way the people fight back against systemic inequities and build sustaining community power.
Recently, an increasing number of municipalities across Missouri have created LGBTQ+ advisory boards, passed resolutions supporting queer citizens, and stood against the growing hate spewing out of the state government. We aim to empower activists within their communities to organize and hold the line to continue the hyper-localized progress. As we continue to change the hearts and minds of those within our communities, our momentum will result in power building and ultimately a change in state government. Here are ways to start your own advocacy journey including toolkits, actions you can take to support communities in Missouri, and stories from LGBTQ+ people across the state.
